Art @ Large is pleased to announce an exhibition of paintings by Sonja Wagner.
Right in time for Valentines Day, this series of works features a sexy character, “Ruby Legs”, wearing only a pair of lips, a pair of legs, and high heels. The exploits of Sonja’s creation, are set against the backdrop of New York City street scenes. Ruby is the sexy embodiment of the single girl in the big city. “I just see her as a metaphor for society”, says Wagner.
Sonja Wagner, who holds an MFA from Wichita State University, has been living in New York, and creating the Ruby Legs paintings for over 20 years - all the while being gainfully employed as an Art Director for multiple Adult Magazines. So one could certainly say with these works of Ruby, that her New York experiences are showing.
