"Though I'm fairly prolific and widely published, there are no fortunes to be made in this particular profession. I do it to honor anyone who has had the courage to thwart society’s strictures and conventions by taking another man's dick in his hands. I do it for all those who won't accept the roles assigned to them, for those who defy the proscribed “reality” and have the courage to forge their own."

Born: Dec. 27th, 1953 in New York City where he grew up.

Attended catholic schools for 12 years. Married when he was 17, he has a son living on the West Coast, divorced when he realized that his cocksucking wasn't "just a phase". Jobs included a 7 year stint in shipping and receiving at Gimbel's department store, 5 years (including 3 in management) at the St. Marks Bathhouse (where he studied anatomy), a few years at GVC porn video company and finally 2 years as a chef at the prestigeous "Strand" restaurant in Miami Beach.

After first having his homoerotic work published in STROKE magazine in the mid 80's, he got regular illustration work for other skin rags including NUGGET, FRESHMEN, MANDATE, GENT, INCHES, PLAYGUY (which ran 3 different long-running cartoon series; "Roadboys", "Richie Tease" and "Beginner's Luck"), PLUMPERS & BIG WOMEN, TORSO, SUGAH (featuring the notorious comic "Sugah"), ALLBOY, BADPUPPY, 18EIGHTEEN and LEGSEX as well as writing a column for HONCHO ("Rant") and drawing for other magazines.

Exhibitions include numerous shows with Art @ Large, the Peter Madero Gallery in NYC, the Tom of Finland Co. store in Los Angeles, the Wild Seduction Gallery in Miami Beach, and most recently at The Erotic Museum in Los Angeles, with his solo exhibition, "Girls Who Do". Kirwan, who currently resides in Miami Beach, considers erotica to be a form of folk art and sees his work as a pictoral history of homosexual norms and values. Infused with color and detail, his drawings depict many ages, ethnicities and body types in direct counterpoint to the more traditional "uberman" represented by most of his contemporaries. Currently working on a book ,"Homomanifesto", with drawings, photographs, essays and fiction in an attempt to re-define and reorganize the "gay" subculture.
